Resilient Relatives

We are good relatives—connected by responsibility, care, and action.

This hub was created in the spirit of unity and togetherness, grounded in the understanding that our strength has always come from community. In moments of crisis and urgency, we come together. In moments of grief and resilience, we stand together. This is an all-hands effort, guided by Indigenous voices, lived experience, and the belief that we are stronger when we move as one.

Our Vision

The MMIP Resources Hub exists to serve as a lifeline and a source of advocacy for all American Indian and Alaska Native people impacted by the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis (MMIP/MMIW), as well as related forms of criminal victimization—including domestic violence, sexual assault, and human and sex trafficking—that so often intersect with MMIP/MMIW.

This is a tool created by Tribes, for Tribes.

Rooted in California Indian Country, our vision is to ensure that no one faces these realities alone. We stand together as good relatives—working urgently, intentionally, and collectively to protect our people, support survivors and families, and fight for accountability and justice. By sharing knowledge, amplifying resources, and strengthening response, we aim to save lives, empower communities, and help our people take back their power.

Our Mission

The MMIP Resources Hub serves as a comprehensive resource center and living library designed to meet the real and immediate needs of our communities.

We curate and maintain critical information for a wide range of audiences—including survivors, families, community members, advocates, and service providers—ensuring resources are:

  • Relevant to California’s Northern, Central, and Southern Indian Country
  • Geographically specific to support timely and effective response
  • Current, accurate, and frequently updated

Our mission is simple and urgent: to make sure everyone knows what to do, when to do it, and how.

By centralizing knowledge and strengthening access to resources, the hub supports survivors, uplifts families, equips communities, and reinforces coordinated action across Tribal Nations. This mission carries the weight of our vision—turning shared responsibility into informed action, and connection into collective power.

Standing Together

This hub is more than information—it is an expression of care, resilience, and responsibility to one another. It reflects a new voice rooted in ancient values, calling for collective action in the face of ongoing harm.

As good relatives, we show up. We share knowledge. We protect one another. And together, we work to bring our people home, support healing, and build safer futures for our communities.
