The Pechanga Band of Indians is a federally recognized Luiseño tribe located near Temecula, California. They are known as the Payómkawichum, meaning “People of the West.” The tribe operates Pechanga Resort Casino, which provides funding for community services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. They also maintain strong cultural traditions and have their own tribal government and constitution.
